Warning Issued Over Lottery Scams



Toms River Police issue a warning to seniors after an 86 year old male resident from a local senior community was snookered by international theives.

Chief Mike Mastronardy says it was the help of a personal banker at a Wachovia branch in Pleasant Plains Wednesday that stopped the senior from wiring $1500 to Jamaica by notifying authorities of a suspicious withdrawal......

However, further investigation found that the victim had already wired over $8000 during the past few months. Chief Mastronardy warns residents not to wire money in hopes of winning a lottery.
