Monmouth Law Enforcement Officials Launch a Search for a Bank Robbery Suspect in Manasquan

The search is on for a Manasquan bank robbery suspect who threatened to blow up the Two RIver Community Bank. Administrative Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutors Michael Cunningham says the suspect entered the Two River branch at the intersection of Parker Avenue and Route 71 around 2:20 yesterday, brandishing a revolver and displaying what appeared to be two grenades.

The robbery triggered the lock down of the Manasquan Elementary School and disrupted the schedules of two other area schools.

The suspect is described as a white male with a southern accent, overweight, in his 50's or 60's and around 5"7. Police say he was also wearing a dark gray and khaki fisherman-type hat, green gloves and glasses. He's also described as having three bandages on his face.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Detective Jose Cruz of the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office at 800-533-7443 or Detective Sergeant Jacob Kleinknecht at 732-223-1000 or the FBI Red Bank Field Office at 732-741-0006.
