Everybody Counts In Ocean County
|
Ocean County Complete Count Committee members go into a full-court press to count every county resident in the 2010 census.
Freeholder Joe Vicari, who formed the group back in 2008, told the Assembly State Government committee Monday about its initiatives. He says the census has short-and-long-term financial and social impacts. Undercounting costs each town and county a thousand dollars per person - per year - for the next 10 years. New Jersey also stands to waste a congressional seat if lower population figures stem from inaccuracies.
The 10-question form is arriving in mailboxes now. Ten County libraries have census staffers standing by to help. WOBM will keep census forms available in its lobby during regular business hours on Route 9 in Bayville until April 19th
