Stafford Police Chief Retires Early

With controversy surrounding the possible layoffs of five Stafford police officers at the end of the month, the Police Chief decides to retire early.
Reports say chief Thomas Conroy, a 27-year veteran of the department, will leave effective Wednesday. His original retirement date was June 30th. No word yet on whether the move will cancel the layoffs.
